A Celestial Snapshot: Louis Daguerre's Photograph of the Moon.

In 1839, a momentous occasion in the history of photography and astronomy occurred when French photographer Louis Daguerre captured the first photograph of the Moon. This pioneering image marked not only a significant technical achievement but also the beginning of a new era in celestial observation and documentation.

Daguerre, already known for his development of the daguerreotype process, used this technique to take a detailed photograph of the Moon.
