A Sparkling Innovation: Thomas Edison's Christmas Tree Lights.

In 1882, Thomas Edison, already renowned for his invention of the incandescent light bulb, added a festive touch to his list of innovations by creating the first string of Christmas tree lights. This bright idea transformed the holiday season, introducing a new, safe way to illuminate Christmas trees and festive decorations.

Before Edison's invention, Christmas trees were lit with candles, posing a significant fire hazard. Edison's string lights offered a safer alternative, bringing the warm glow of electric light to the festive season. This invention was not only a technical achievement but also a pivotal moment in holiday design and decoration, shaping how Christmas was celebrated and experienced.
